mixed feelings about this place

cute stafftatty bathroomextra charge
The staff were cute. This was acceptable.
The room i booked was not what i expected. It was advertised as a 'king' but felt more like a cramped twin. the bathroom seemed rundown. It wasn't particularly clean. i had to pay extra for toast during breakfast even after spending a significant amount on my stay and dinner.

hot breakfaststale beerclogged drain
the breakfast was cooked well enough i guess, it was hot.
The room smelled strongly of stale beer. there were stains on the carpet near the bed. I'm pretty sure they were not from beer. the shower drain was clogged, so i stood in ankle-deep water while showering.

Acceptable, but Some Issues Noted

helpful servicedirty stairsstrong door spring
The staff provided lovely and helpful service .
I found that the stairs leading to my bedroom needed a good vacuum (it was quite noticeable). The door to my room had a strong spring that caused it to close quickly, trapping and bruising my hand. I think that the hotel should maybe install blinds or nets in the room, as it overlooks people in the area.

The staff was friendly! The location was convenient, close to a bus stop. Breakfast included a good meal.
The stairs needed vacuuming. My hand got caught in the spring-loaded door bruising it. The shower needed modernizing.
