central location hike trail clean bathrooms
the central location was great. it was just a few minutes walk from the station. the hotel is right beside the orrest head hike trail, convenient. bathrooms were very clean!!!
The restaurant was not open for dinner. There was no notification about this on the website.

old furniture chipped paint
the location was acceptable for exploring the area.
I was disappointed with the room i received. It felt quite dated and in need of some refurbishment, the furniture seemed old and worn. paint was chipped. the overall condition of the room was not very appealing to me

mixed experience
broken lift missing touches
the breakfast was a very good standard with varied choices.
i was disappointed that there was no lift working. i chose this hotel specifically because a lift was listed as an amenity. finding out it was broken was not good, especially since my sister needed it. the little touches were missing too, like biscuits with the tea.

Solid stay near train station
attentive staff excellent reception quick service discounted car park
I found the staff at breakfast to be very attentive. the food was great. The reception was excellent and helpful all hours. The dining room staff was quick with no delays between courses. The car park was good for only six pounds a night. it got discounted for day trips.
The room had poor lighting and heating. the bathroom felt too cold.

The hotel's location was a definite plus. It was a short walk to the bus station. Buses run regularly to different areas. I found good bars and restaurants within walking distance. I had no issues bringing my dog to this hotel.
The parking fee of £6 per night seemed a little HIGH though.

convenient car park easy travel hotel drive
The hotel has a convenient car park. This is useful when returning late. the bus services opposite the station offer easy travel to bowness and ambleside. the entrance to orrest head wainwright walk is directly at the end of the hotel drive.
paying for parking as a hotel guest felt unnecessary.
