i found the hotel grounds very nice. the staff seemed very friendly and breakfast was superb. hotel rooms are comfortable and also warm. all in all it was a pleasant stay for me.
i noticed trash was still left in the bin inside the room. under the sink in the bathroom i saw something that looked like excrement. the water pressure from the shower felt too weak.

extensive grounds and beautiful gardens surround the hotel. sitting areas all around permit enjoying the scenery. there are a great outdoor area at the back and seats to the front too.

the staff were very helpful and found a safe place for my bike for the night. the beds were comfy. we enjoyed dinner, and breakfast had lovely views of the forth bridges from the breakfast room.

the hotel is located a half hour from edinburgh, a city with convenient transportation links. a bus stop is only about 300 meters away, providing easy access to the city center and edinburgh for around £7. it is a real alternative to edinburgh's expensive hotel prices.

the receptionist was very friendly and even ordered a taxi. they recommended some nice local pubs, really helpful. the hotel also has a nice smoking area outside with a table. the staff even made custom breakfast combinations.
