The staff seemed friendly and VERY helpful. I found a great atmosphere. The room was good and the breakfast was excellent. staff seemed very helpful here.
I think the hotel exterior is a little run down.

The check-in process was straightforward, a relatively smooth start to my stay.
My room smelled strongly of paint, MOST likely from a recent, rushed job. Dust coated the vintage radio in the room. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The walls were also VERY thin, and I barely slept.

the reception staff were smiling. the security guard at the door was reassuring. the room featured cream and brown tiles in the bathroom , a modern touch. i found the bottle opener attached to the sink useful , it was very practical.

the double room was quite spacious. it included a hairdryer and a kettle for making tea. an iron and ironing board were available , this was helpful.

the surrounding gardens offered a beautiful space. a leisurely stroll around the grounds was possible. the driveway had a rustic appearance , this gave the hotel real character.

a slightly underwhelming stay.
stale cigarettesawful shower
The room was supposedly non-smoking, but it reeked of stale cigarettes. i told reception but nothing happened. the shower pressure was awful. It barely trickled out. also, the tv remote was missing a battery cover, taped together. it felt a bit grimy.
