mixed feelings about this stay

tinned fruitrattling windows
the breakfast buffet was pretty sad the tinned fruit selection seemed like a throwback to a bygone era. also the room i had featured rattling windows i could not get a restful sleep. the noise from outside was relentless even with the windows closed tight. the overall experience felt a bit like stepping back in time not in a good way.

really good breakfastkind ownerfine chinahot roommuseum curationno explanation
the breakfast was fantastic. jane, the owner, came round every morning to say hello. she checked everyone had everything they wanted, it was very kind. the china used for breakfast was fine.
the room was hot. i understand it's an old hotel without air conditioning. i also found the museum curation chaotic. many items were piled without explanation.

eccentricity at its best

tidal poolhelpful staffdelicious breakfastconvenient sauna
I found a proper tidal pool nearby. it was very deep, i thought it was perfect for swimming. the hotel boasts a sauna on the prom. breakfast was also excellent. i really appreciated the helpful staff.
The water taps in the rooms were oddly difficult to manage due to the old design. I struggled a bit with them.

the superior double room included a comfortable bed. i appreciated the separate seating area. the room featured a balcony with a sea view, not directly facing but still beautiful. it was perfect.

good selectioncracked varnishhard bed
The breakfast offered a good selection. It was okay.
My room showed its age quite clearly. The furniture varnish was cracked and desperately needed some care. The bed was like sleeping on a brick, so I didn't sleep well. I'm not sure what the old fireplace was for. It had derelict electrical elements.

Super Quirky and Fab!

helpful staffhistorical piecesinflated price
This hotel is super quirky and lovely! The staff were helpful and polite, and I did loved the stay. The hotel has a museum inside it with historical pieces.
The hotel had over-inflated prices at the bar. A bottled pint of Peroni cost £9 and still water was above £3. A round was more than £12, this felt a little high.
Location
9/10
The hotel is close to the beach and it has a seawater pool. This location gives a singular, family-friendly, cute, and creative ambience. Many artists have stayed at the hotel too.
Service
10/10
The staff gave great care, were fantastic, and were accommodating. The owner is very kind and tells great stories. Staff were helpful and really loved the stay.
Facilities

The breakfast includes fine china. The hotel has a amazing museum and a pink billiards table.
