Really good Stay!

efficient check-infriendly staffconvenient parkingideal locationdated staircase
The check-in was super efficient. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. I had convenient parking spaces right on the road. The location was ideal for a quick walk to the town center.
The staircase up to my room felt a bit dated.
Rooms
9/10
The room included tea and coffee making facilities with tasty biscuits! Sheets were clean and well ironed. I slept in one of the comfiest beds I've ever experienced, a huge plus after a long day of travel.
Facilities
9/10
I appreciated that the accommodation was very secure, needing a key for entry in the evenings. The pub setting allowed for easy access to drinks and dinner. Tesco is also conveniently close. You can easily walk there to withdraw cash from the ATM.
Service
10/10
Breakfast offered a nice continental selection and a menu for ordering hot food! The chef prepared an omelette exactly to my liking. It was very tasty. Staff greeted me warmly and offered tea or coffee promptly when I arrived for breakfast.

lovely stay with minor issues

comfortable bedfriendly staffsecure bagiffy shower
The staff provided a warm greeting and quick check-in, showing us to our room. friendly staff was consistent throughout our stay. the room had a large comfortable bed with a good sized ensuite. they also kept our bag secure in the office while we went on a canal boat tour before leaving for home. Incredibly thoughtful!
the shower head was iffy, typical of many places i stay. it could use an upgrade to provide a more consistent water flow.
Dining
9/10
I had both evening meal and breakfast. Both were of high quality, served quickly by very pleasant staff. the sunday roast was very nice! i really recommend eating at the restaurant. It is worth it.
Facilities
8/10
The location has central access, close to shops and restaurants. Convenient for the train station and bus station, if travelling by public transport. it makes it very easy to get around and explore the area, though parking is limited.
Service

The staff were lovely and very friendly, providing great service throughout my stay. they were very attentive and helpful with any requests. Everything was very efficient, though a smile would be nice.

Decent stay overall

friendly staffthoughtful designtasty foodunempty binsstained shelvinggrubby sealant
I found the staff very friendly. They were always approachable and helpful. My room was thoughtfully designed. It included enough storage and well-placed lighting. The food impressed me. Both dinner and breakfast tasted great, prepared with obvious care.
The cleanliness of my room was a concern. The bins weren't empty. I noticed stains on the shelving unit. The skirting boards in the bathroom had dust, and I saw grubby sealant around the walls and toilet.

Acceptable Stay

The staff provided a friendly service. I received an upgraded room, and it was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was also lovely.
The staircase up to the room looked dated. It was also uncared for. The double bed felt awful. I could feel the springs in the bed, so I did not rest well.

The room had a comfortable bed. An evening meal was available and I had a King Prawn Balti (it was really delicious). The breakfast had a good choice of cereals and warm food.
The bar closes relatively early at 10 p.m.

I enjoyed the friendly staff. They even helped me find a local team for the pub quiz (that was a fun surprise!). the room was super clean and cozy. the location was also convenient. It was an easy walk to the town center.
The staircase up to my room seemed dated and a bit uncared for. the bathroom had a slightly damp smell, and some of the grout looked a bit yellowed. the double bed wasn't very comfortable. I could feel the springs, and it was a bit lumpy.
