The breakfast was great (especially the scrambled eggs!). The staff were helpful to me at every turn. The location provided easy access for woodland walks. The grounds around the hotel are beautiful.
The room was a little too warm, even with the window open.

the staff were friendly and cute, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. the food in the restaurant was also very good.
we were given a room where dogs could stay. the smell from the carpet near the bed was noticeable. i wasn't informed about this beforehand, and the room felt too small for a couple. it was more suited for a single traveller. the room felt hot, so i requested a fan. the fan was noisy and didn't help us sleep.

the building IS Fine and sits in a fantastic location. plenty of paths surround the hotel, a lovely place to walk. the food was delicious, and the staff was really good. they really can't do enough for you.
i found the furnishings somewhat outdated, and the lighting was not ideal. a stone cold shower was rather UNPLEASANT.

the breakfast was ok. it was cooked to order.
i was pretty horrified by the live parrot. it was in a cage at the bottom of a dark staircase. the cage was practically empty save for some newspaper, and the staff didn't seem to know much about the bird. it's just not a suitable environment for an animal like that.
