central streets large television basement room pedestrian view
the location was convenient. it was very close to central streets. i appreciated having breakfast included (it simplified the mornings!). the large tv was also a plus.
i noticed a lack of cheese and fresh bread (it was a bit disappointing). my room was in the basement. pedestrians could look down into it.

basic room few hangers
The location was good for accessing the main attractions.
The room felt quite basic. It lacked a wardrobe and only had a few hangers attached to the wall. There were no drawers either. Only shelves for storage. I expected more for the price.

Adequate Stay Near the Royal Mile

The staff were friendly and helpful. They offered to store luggage. The location is close to the Royal Mile. It is easy to explore many sites from the hotel.
The room was dark, even when all the lights were on. the temperature was too high. It would not go below 19 degrees. The smoke detector gave out a bright pulsing light throughout the night.

speedy check-in efficient air conditioning pastry selection
the front desk offered speedy check-in. the room had efficient air conditioning, so i felt comfortable. breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, and a selection of pastries (especially the croissants!).
the elevator was sometimes slow during peak hours, so i needed to wait.

the staff at the reception were polite and very helpful with directions and local recommendations. they also provided quick assistance when i needed extra towels for the room.

this hotel is very close to numerous historical and cultural attractions, a real plus for seeing the city. it's a short walk to the royal mile, and public transportation is easily accessible from the hotel.
