The location allows easy access to several amazing walks. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I found the ambiance cozy. The food portions are generous and tasty (I really enjoyed the vegetarian options). I appreciated the dog-friendly environment and the comfy bed. I also liked that the room avoided single-use materials where possible. I thought that was a nice touch.
The bar service was slightly slow at one point, but I didn't mind waiting too much.

I had a superior double room, it was really clean. The hotel breakfast impressed me, it had homemade pancakes. The staff are friendly, they are very helpful too. The location felt really quiet. The drying room provided a welcome space for wet gear.

the bed was comfortable and large. staff were friendly and eager to provide good service. the restaurant offered a wide range of well-prepared and presented food for the evening meal. i found a good choice of cooked options for breakfast.
i arrived at approximately 6.15pm on saturday, and i had to wait 10 minutes before anyone came to check me in. the guy looked scruffy and unprofessional. the hotel is very old looking.

the hotel provided ample parking. i could easily walk to little langdale. elterwater and chapel styal are nearby. the hotel allows dogs and the room i stayed in was big. breakfast included many choices and the cooking was good.
the tv in the room needed some adjustments when i arrived.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the dog-friendly atmosphere and spacious bar area. There was enough room between tables so dogs could stay separate. Parking was plentiful (always a plus!). I enjoyed nearby walks a lot.
The menu changed recently, and dog-friendly items like chicken or sausage are no longer available, replaced with dry kibble.

The room was clean and well-kept for my entire stay. It had a comfortable bed and functional furniture. It also included a TV with several channels and reliable Wi-Fi, I was able to do my work with no issues.
