the staff were accommodating and the location was convenient.
i found the en suite to be quite disappointing (it really needs updating). the toilet seat needed replacing, and i noticed a lack of thorough cleaning. the shower experience was also less than ideal.

damp smellmissing breakfast
My room smelled strongly of damp. The window had to stay open to try and get rid of it. the bathroom was even worse. also, one morning breakfast was unavailable as the cook did not show up and there was no replacement. This was a real inconvenience.

i appreciated the building's edwardian character the historical architecture downstairs was amazing i found the bed comfortable and the ensuite provided good showers the breakfasts tasted delicious and staff were very professional i liked the freshly cooked food each morning. the building had many original features from 1903 i especially noted the fireplaces and what i thought was antique double glazing the swimming pool was a great addition and all the staff were wonderfully friendly. i enjoyed the breakfast room with paneled walls and ceiling the breakfast itself was very nicely cooked and i liked the little balcony in our room overlooking the trees and gardens the location was fantastic. sue at reception was amazing and were very good too.
the hotel showed slight signs of its age in places.

the hotel offers a swimming pool that is great and well kept the breakfast room stands out with panelled walls there is a little balcony that overlooked the gardens with large trees and free parking is also available on the hotel grounds.

The building presents beautiful original features. Breakfast was really good. It was made to order. Sue at reception is also very helpful. She is friendly.
I did find that the heating system was not great. I do not think the room was very warm. there was no hot water available .
