historic charm with a fantastic location
horatio nelson historical context easy access old paintings
The hotel's association with horatio nelson really adds to its character, i found the historical context fascinating. the location was perfect. I had easy access to the ferry for the isles of scilly. the building itself is historic, and i enjoyed seeing the old paintings from the 1800s. i appreciated that the furniture matched the hotel's style, it really enhanced the ambiance.
I noticed some wear and tear. A little attention to cleanliness could improve the experience.

Breakfast was super good! it had a wide selection and everything was delivered quickly. the breakfast was more than sufficient. I liked the variety available each morning.

the hotel staff kindly provided breakfast earlier than usual. this allowed me to catch my train without missing a meal. the location was very central (near the shops). the room was clean. the staff were friendly.
the room lacked soundproofing from the street.

the room was spacious and featured a comfy bed (i slept very well). ample storage was provided, including a wardrobe and drawers. the bathroom, though a little dated, was clean, and hot water was readily available.

breakfast was great in a very nice room. parking was available on site, a big plus. the bar offered good service in the evenings. the hotel has a relaxing atmosphere.

I loved the hotel's location, it was very central and easy to walk to many places. The staff were helpful and friendly. The historic building had character, I liked seeing the old architecture.
The shower did not work properly in my room, it was a small inconvenience though

The staff were always smiling and ready to help with anything I needed, I thought that was great. Lisa checked me in on arrival and was lovely, she provided useful local information. Jo made sure they were met.

The hotel sits close to the train station! It only takes about a ten minute walk up an incline. Other restaurants and bars surround the hotel, that is good to see! The hotel has a great location!

My room was super clean, I noticed that as soon as I entered. The room was warm, I slept well. If I ignored the sea gulls. The bed was comfortable, that was important to me.

The location was ideal it was close to rail and bus stations. I found other local amenities nearby. The separate function room had historical significance I thought it was awesome. The breakfast included a good early start at 0730.
