Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Old Black Horse Inn is praised for its excellent location, with the Botanic Gardens and Oxford city centre within easy walking distance, and convenient access to the 400 bus route from the station to St Clements Road. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms, some of which feature amenities such as a kitchenette equipped with a kettle, toaster, fridge, and cooking rings. While most found their rooms quiet, a few guests in rooms facing the street have occasionally noted some noise from passing buses, especially in the early morning. The availability of parking is a significant plus for many visitors.

Acceptable Stay with Issues

good locationpoorly fitted windows
The location was good and within walking distance of the city center.
The room was cold. The radiator in the bathroom did not work, and the windows seemed poorly fitted (it was as if they had large gaps).

Convenient Location with Character

convenient locationheated drying rackspacious bathroomlimited privacy
I found the location quite convenient, especially with the bus station only a few minutes away. Room 8 offered enough space for two people, with the potential to accommodate three. I appreciated the inclusion of a heated drying rack and a spacious bathroom. That was a welcome addition.
Car parking spots were very close to the windows of the flat. Cars parked very close to windows and the blinds needed to stay closed for privacy. This made the room dark.
Facilities
9/10
Parking was available, a significant advantage in this area, and Wi-Fi was provided. I also noted a pub just across the street, offering convenient dining and entertainment options. This added to the overall appeal.

The room was clean. It contained all necessities, including a fridge with complimentary water and a selection of tea and coffee. I also found the en-suite and electric shower worked well. It was a welcome feature .
