Excellent Stay for Walking Group

clean roomfriendly staffexcellent breakfastpoor storage
I reserved all rooms for our Ramblers group for a walking trip. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful . The breakfasts were prepared to order and were excellent.
The bike storage was poor. It looked like a junk shed, and it had no roof, which left the bikes exposed to the elements.

On-site parking is available and is convenient. The hotel provides ground floor access who require it. This makes entry and exit easier. A five minute walk takes you to the city center.

Excellent Stay with River Views

I found the staff very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast was very good and it was served in a conservatory (overlooking the river, of course!). The location is handy, so it allowed me to easily access the railway station and main attractions nearby.
The communal hallway areas had a noticeable smell of stale cigarette smoke. This was quite unpleasant.
Rooms

The staff were attentive. They provided information about getting around the area. They even helped me charge my phone, as I had forgotten my charger. This level of service greatly enhanced my stay.
Dining

Breakfast included a full English option. cereals, fruit, and toast were available (I appreciated the variety). Sitting in the dining area overlooking the river made for a good start to each day.
