Wonderful Stay at the Seaside

I booked a room here after a nice walk on the promenade. The food was tasty. I ordered the gammon with egg and pineapple and it included fresh pineapple which I never had before. Prices were reasonable and the staff polite, so I booked an overnight stay including breakfast.
I have stayed here many times, but the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits diminished. They provided cheap biscuits from a discount store and no longer offer galaxy hot chocolate sachets. I feel the hotel is now more focused on money.

The hotel offers traditional pub food with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The Victoria Bar serves a grill night special including gammon, chips, peas, mushroom, Diane sauce, onion rings, and a lemonade for just over £20.

My superior double room was huge with fine views of the estuary. It included a very big and comfortable bed. The bathroom was a great size with a full size bath and lovely toiletries, all contributing to a good experience.

My room overlooked the car park and was well maintained. The tea tray had a good selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits. Reception provided extra supplies when needed. The hotel gym was well equipped and free to use (I visited in the morning).
Some carpets on the stairs showed some fraying.

My room had ample space. The bed included crisp linens and firm pillows. A television with standard cable channels was available. Blackout curtains effectively blocked morning light.

Staff at the front desk were efficient during check-in. Restaurant service was generally prompt and courteous. The housekeeping team ensured the room was clean daily. Staff quickly addressed a minor issue with the television remote.

The gym featured three treadmills and two stationary bikes. Free WiFi access was available throughout the hotel. Vending machines for snacks and drinks were located on the ground floor.

The breakfast buffet offered scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. A selection of cereals, pastries, and fruit was available (especially good were the muffins!). Coffee and tea stations were self-service. The restaurant provided high chairs for children.

The hotel is located near the esplanade. The tram to a large city stops nearby, about 40 minutes to the main attractions. Local ice cream parlors and coffee shops are within walking distance. The beach is very close.

the staff was amazing from reception to housekeeping. the reception staff were funny and witty a real delight. the restaurant staff showed amazing attention to detail. i especially appreciated the housekeeping staff for their dedication to cleanliness
the carpet in my room had several bleach stains plus the furniture looked chipped. i found this disappointing as it detracted from the otherwise positive experience. i hope they address this soon

i found the staff to be friendly and helpful . i appreciated the small extras provided such as hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. the car park was big and convenient. the hotel's location near the river and morecambe bay offered wonderful views towards the lake district.
