Excellent stay overall
clean facilities beautiful gardens helpful staff rear parking
i found the facilities clean. the gardens are beautiful. staff were helpful (a great feature). i appreciated the rear parking location because it was close to the bedrooms. breakfast was good and offered plenty of options. the location allows a short walk into the nearby village.
the room was a little small. (but ok).

breakfast was nice with coffee and hot chocolate always available. the chef paid great attention to his breakfast. there was a communal seating and dining area available if i wanted to order takeaway in the evening.

friendly staff lovely grounds independent shops tiny bedroom overcooked bacon dry eggs
The staff was so friendly. They were really helpful. The location had lovely grounds. I had such a short walk to Cookham High Street with its independent shops.
My room was tiny. It was almost impossible to walk around the bed. It was hard to get to the toilet during the night. Breakfast was ok, but the eggs and bacon are overcooked and dry. It was not freshly cooked.

closed bar empty vending machine
The bar was closed! on a saturday afternoon that was disappointing. it only opened when i asked a member of staff. the vending machine was almost empty. Made finding a snack difficult. it was like the hotel was mainly operating rooms only. i think they could improve these aspects of their service.

the room was nice. it had everything i needed for my short stay? plenty of free parking was available too.
The bar was closed on saturday afternoon. it only opened when i asked a member of staff. The restaurant was also closed saturday afternoon and evening.
