the front desk staff provided excellent service. i got assistance with directions and local recommendations. the location was central to many attractions. i also found the breakfast selection quite diverse, with fresh fruit available daily.
the room size felt smaller than expected. i struggled with limited space for luggage storage. the noise from the street was noticeable at times. the window faced an adjacent building, so it was rather dark in the room.

my room faced the building across the street, overlooking what seemed to be their kitchen. a space between the buildings contained air conditioning units. i couldn't open the window, causing the room to overheat.

accommodating staffexcessive street noisethin walls
the staff moved me to a better room after i reported a smell in the first one, which i found acceptable.
The noise from the pedestrian street was excessive. I needed earplugs because of music and general activity until at least 1 am. also, housekeeping began rounds early. The thin walls meant i heard everything from adjacent rooms.

The front desk staff offered Port wine and Pasteis de Nata (I loved this touch!). The staff was very kind. My room faced the alley. It was surprisingly quiet. The shower was great. The little balcony was awesome.
The room was a bit too dark. The small window offered little natural light so I had to keep the lights on all the time. The view was directly into a nearby building (not so pleasant).
