Solid Stay Near the Zoo

The staff at the bar was very friendly, a detail i appreciated. Leaving my baggage after checkout for five hours was quite convenient. The hotel's location near the train station provided EASY access to transportation and shopping.
I found that the floor under the double bed seemed rarely mopped, as my child discovered quite a bit of dust.

The breakfast offered a typical German buffet selection, and it was reasonably priced. I especially liked the fresh bread selection, and the coffee machine worked perfectly every morning.

The double room was spacious. It had everything i needed. Beds were comfortable, and the safe locker functioned well. The windows kept out MOST of the street noise.

The reception staff were cute, i found. They promptly addressed my questions and offered helpful directions to nearby attractions. I found this especially valuable.

the location proved very convenient, a short walk from the zoo's west side. nearby restaurants offered good dining options. the building's architecture seemed unique, i guess a bauhaus style.
the room was quite small, i thought. i found no amenities inside, that surprised me. i think the service was minimal, only the lobby staff seemed available.

i booked this place hoping for a comfortable stay. the room was not ready when i arrived slightly before the check-in time. i found that a couple of other guests who arrived after me were immediately given their room keys. the shower drain was not working properly, it overflowed when i used it.

The lounge spaces were nice, and the coffee bar was a definite plus!!! The room was immaculate and impressively quiet. I could actually relax. The bathroom was warm, and the shower was EXCELLENT!!!
The room was a little dusty, my ONLY complaint.

The location IS perfect. It's near S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations. That access made exploring the city easy. Air conditioning worked very well during the hot weather. The shutters on the windows kept the room dark. This helped me sleep better.
The room had no kettle or cups. I couldn't make tea or coffee in the room. This was inconvenient (especially in the morning).
