Wynn's Hotel - A historic 3-star hotel with Victorian charm, Irish dining, and city-center accessibility

Wynn's Hotel blends Victorian-era architecture with contemporary amenities, offering 65 rooms ranging from classic to deluxe accommodations, including suites and accessibility options. Located on Lower Abbey Street, the 3-star property features The Playwright Restaurant, serving seasonal Irish cuisine with organic produce, and Saints & Scholars Lounge, which offers carvery lunches and evening pub fare. Guests can expect free Wi-Fi, a tram stop (Luas) directly outside, and proximity to landmarks like EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum (0.5 km) and Dublin Castle (1 km). Historical brass plaques in the lounge commemorate the first meetings of the Irish Volunteer Force and Cumann na mBan, held at Wynn's Hotel in 1913 and 1914.

Pros

The Luas tram stop at the entrance provides quick access to Connolly and Heuston train stations.

The Playwright Restaurant serves an award-winning breakfast with signature dishes like Grilled Kippers.

Historical plaques and stain-glass literary artwork add cultural depth to the Saints & Scholars Lounge.

Deep-cleaning protocols include extra disinfection of high-touch surfaces like door handles and TV remotes.

Cons

No on-site parking; the nearest option is 200 yards away at Irish Life Mall.

The Playwright Restaurant closes for dinner except on Fridays and Saturdays.

Wynn's Hotel enjoys a superb location just off O'Connell Street, making it easy to explore the city centre and landmarks like the Daniel O'Connell monument, visible from some rooms. The breakfast is often mentioned as a highlight, served in the beautiful dining room, with the full Irish option being a must-try for many. While some found the bedroom space a bit tight, others appreciated the spacious and well-appointed rooms and the hotel's historic charm, filled with interesting portraits.
