mixed feelings about this ryokan

thin wallslimited breakfast

the soundproofing was certainly an issue i could hear conversations and other noises from neighboring rooms VERY clearly this made it difficult to relax fully the walls seemed thin the breakfast also felt somewhat limited compared to other similar establishments i have visited I expected a bit more variety

the staff was very helpful. i liked that there was a washing machine and a clothes dryer available. i also bought detergent from reception, convenient.

i sent a message to the hotel around noon, mentioning that i would arrive around 11:30pm coming from an airport. however, no one answered the doorbell when i arrived at midnight, and i had to wait outside. the notice on the front desk indicated a 10pm closing time.

the traditional style room was excellent it also featured modern amenities. the staff were friendly the breakfast they served was well presented and delicious.

i noticed some broken fixtures in my room i saw some tired lobby decor. there was also an old smell in the hallway and common areas

the staff was very kind. i enjoyed the japanese rock salt bath. the hotel provided a yuzu drink, it tasted good.

the front desk was closed at 10pm though i wish they had informed me earlier about that.

i found the staff very helpful they showed me around. the hotell explained everything to me. the walls are quite thin. my neighbours were quiet so it was still a pleasant stay.

the onsen was fully booked for the duration of my stay it was a shame.

Traditional Charm Near the Station

The ryokan is a short walk from the main station, which makes getting around very easy. I enjoyed sleeping on the tatami mats in my room, it was a unique experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, they gave me a tour of the hotel upon arrival. The Japanese breakfast offered a great start to the day. It included varied dishes.

The walls were very thin, so noise traveled easily from the corridor and other rooms.

The hotel has a washing machine and clothes dryer for guest use, and detergent can be purchased at the front desk. There is a photo booth available, allowing guests to capture nice moments with fun and unique snapshots.

All the staff spoke English, made communication very simple, and they were happy when I spoke Japanese. Fresh matcha green tea bags were left in the room daily, so guests can make tea whenever they like.
