Wonderful Location and Excellent Service!

large bedfantastic showerefficient stafftop-class food
Check-in was easy. The room was very clean and featured a large, comfortable bed. The shower was fantastic. The breakfast was AMAZING!!! All the staff were efficient and polite. The in-house restaurant had top-class food quality.
The hotel needs to show its age slightly less. There was no fridge in the room, I think a fridge would have been nice.
Facilities
9/10
The pool is more of a plunge pool. it was a lovely and warm amenity. The gym includes several machines for a good workout. I found this to be satisfactory.
Dining
8/10
Breakfast has many options including cold and hot items. One can ask for porridge. The continental breakfast offers mainly cereals and fresh fruit salads. I found plenty of choice at breakfast.
Location
10/10
The hotel is very near the railway station and the harbor. It is also near the Royal Navy arsenal. I appreciated how easy it was to walk to nearby attractions.

a perfectly mediocre stay

convenient locationpeeling wallpaperuninterested staff
the location suited my needs , very close to attractions.
the room was sadly outdated and in dire need of a refresh. wallpaper was peeling off the walls , and i found some rather unsightly holes. the reception staff seemed uninterested when i mentioned these issues , exhibiting a distinct lack of customer service skills.

early bar closingcold breakfast
The bar closed SO early at 11pm. I expected it to be open later for hotel guests. It's frustrating when you want ONE more drink. Breakfast tasted fine, BUT everyone had to stand around waiting for food to be refilled, so a lot of items were cold by the time I got them.

Reasonable Stay

The room was clean. It was a Budget Double Room. I liked the quietness of the room. I didn't hear noise from other guests. The hotel has a nice bar with friendly staff.
I found the foam mattresses too hot. They slid on the bases. The room got too hot, even with the windows fully open. The breakfast bacon was very overdone. The eggs seemed old.
