Solid base for local exploration
gluten free options bedroom window very easy access
The host provided gluten-free options for breakfast, WHAT was great. I saw a red kite from my bedroom window in the fields opposite.
The beds were adequate though the door to the ensuite was to have been rehung to open outwards. This created a problem as the lock is now on the outside. The hand basin is small. Water splashes onto the floor.

Wonderful Location and Cozy Room
kind host beautiful location short walk
I found Julian to be a very kind host. The house is lovely and sits in a beautiful location. It is close to the Tor and Chalice Well Gardens. The location is a short walk into town too.
The bathroom was cramped. The beds reminded me of they had a cheap springy basic mattress. I think the photos didn't show how basic the setup was.

The double room had wooden floorboards and a lovely rug. Beds are supremely comfortable. There is plenty of storage space and a seating area to enjoy the peace.

The hotel is a short walk to a footpath to the Tor paths. A slightly longer walk takes you into town itself. I found coffee stops and unusual shops very close.

Breakfast offered freedom to choose from a selection. I saw cereals, breads, dairy products, teas, coffees, and juices. Everything was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean.

Fantastic Stay Near the Tor
clean hotel peaceful atmosphere lovely garden
The hotel was very clean. I found it peaceful and relaxing. The garden was perfect for meditation or listening to birds (which I did every morning).

Such a serene house close to the Tor!
fantastic host great location comfy beds fresh bread
I was greeted by Julian, a fantastic host who even gave a tour up the Tor. The location is great for exploring, with a real experience offered! The house had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. comfy beds. I especially loved that fresh bread was made for breakfast each day. It was quite yummy!
The requirement to remove shoes upon entering the hotel felt slightly inconvenient on the first day.

The hotel benefits from a very short walk to a footpath that leads to the Tor paths. It's also an easy walk through the fairy woods and across the Avalon Orchard to reach the path up to the Tor.

The rooms feature wooden floorboards covered with a lovely rug and supply plenty of storage space. Each room contains a seating area for enjoying the peace. Coffee and tea making facilities are well-equipped, great!

Breakfast was a wonderful experience, with many cereals, breads, and dairy products available. There were also many choices of teas, coffees, and juices. Everything was beautifully presented. The crockery and table dressing were lush.

The entire house is gorgeous. the garden is a huge bonus . The tranquil haven allows for peaceful contemplation. The house offers no tv, which helps you enjoy and explore what is on offer.

tiny bathroom basic breakfast
I found a couple of things pretty annoying. First, the bathroom was TINY. I practically had to stand in the hallway to dry myself after a shower. Second, the breakfast setup felt pretty basic. It was self-service, fine, but the options were just okay. I expected more, given the price I paid.
