Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Hostal Rio Amazonas enjoys a great location near the Metro station, making it easy to get around Santiago, and is within walking distance of attractions like Plaza de Armas and the Bella Vista area's bars and restaurants. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms, each unique due to the hostal being in an older home; some rooms even offer soundproofing from the busy street. Breakfast is often highlighted as very good, with a variety of options including fruit, bread, and eggs, though some have mentioned the noise from the creaky wooden floors can be disruptive. The hostal provides a relaxed atmosphere for travelers looking for a comfortable stay.

Satisfactory stay

helpful staffcustom maphistorical buildingbasic roomstrange vibecreaky floor
The staff was genuinely helpful. Caroline gave me a custom map with Santiago information upon check-in. The hostel is a repurposed former home so it has history. The building was constructed at the turn of the century for a prominent family.
The room was basic. The vibe felt a little strange. The floors and bed creaked whenever I moved in the room. I could hear other guests walking in the room above me.
