Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets are usually appreciated for their convenient location near Tunnel Mountain, with a free bus pass making trips to downtown Banff easy, and assigned parking being a bonus. Guests often enjoy the well-equipped kitchens and the cozy feel of the wood-burning fireplaces. The spacious rooms, some featuring mountain views and multiple bathrooms, are a plus for families; however, a few guests have noted that the apartments appear dated. All in all, this is a great place.

Satisfied Stay

well thought kitchen wood burning fireplace assigned parking
The kitchen had all necessary items. There was a wood-burning fireplace with starter materials giving a cabin feel. The balcony was a nice feature for breakfast overlooking the mountains. Assigned parking was a bonus.
The housekeeper did not replenish coffee on the second day. This was a minor inconvenience . It would be great to have consistent replenishment daily.
Facilities
9/10
The playzone offered a great space for kids to play. The hotel also provided free bus passes for transportation into town. This made getting around easy and accessible, a great benefit. We could easily visit downtown and nearby attractions without the need for a car.

the bus passes were a good perk. it was handy to get around.
The room was pretty shabby. i think it needs some serious upgrades. also, the air conditioning struggled to keep up on the hot days. The room was uncomfortably warm.
