Chalkcroft Lodge offers a delightful experience, with many guests appreciating the lovely sight of the main house upon arrival via the long driveway. The spacious, two-bedroom property stands out, particularly the layout featuring a metal spiral staircase, although some found the staircase uncomfortable without shoes. Conveniently located near Andover for takeaways and a short drive from Newbury Racecourse, the lodge provides a peaceful retreat where guests have spotted colorful birds and squirrels, even seeing stars clearly at night.

the shower situation was not ideal only one person could shower with warm water the rest had to wait until the next day it was a bit inconvenient the host mentioned this was unusual i also found it odd that i had to use the bathroom sink for both the kettle and drinking water a downstairs sink would have been much better

the driveway revealed a lovely main house. harriet greeted us warmly, showing genuine interest in our travel. she and giles ensured our stay was enjoyable, even providing milk and fresh water daily.. also tomato sauce for our takeaway. the location was peaceful and we saw squirrels and colorful birds.
the tv was quite small for the living room size.

serene escape, memories made

warm welcometennis courtsfresh milkmissing sink
harriet's warm welcome began our stay wonderfully. she even brought fresh milk upon our arrival. the children were thrilled with the trampoline, and the tennis courts became a huge hit. we bought rackets for home as a result.
while sufficient for our needs, the absence of a full kitchen, specifically a sink, posed a minor inconvenience. we used the bathroom sink for water to fill the kettle. it wasn't an issue for us, but could bother some guests
Location
9/10
the setting was peaceful. this idyllic location created a restful atmosphere, and i loved the long driveway down to the main house. the natural surroundings enhanced the charm.
Dining
8/10
nearby options in the village included pubs with lovely ambiance, but not many restaurants. takeaways in nearby areas offered convenient alternatives. the village offered thatched houses that really were great
Service
10/10
harriet was attentive. she ensured our needs were met promptly. her willingness to assist with washing up compensated for the kitchen setup, and she even offered oven use.

The hotel was spacious. It provided ample room for our party.
I encountered issues with the bathroom. The shower nozzle was attached with yellow tape, and black mold covered the shower screen. The toilet seat was also loose. This posed a considerable inconvenience.
